Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is available to all parishioners, of every age.  Please contact the church office with your concerns and with questions and issues of faith; you will receive a warm welcome.  Children and youth also receive a warm welcome and a listening ear for questions and concerns.  Private confession is available by appointment with the Rector and remains confidential at all costs.

Please contact the Rector when you or a family member will be hospitalized, would appreciate having Holy Communion because of inability to attend church, need special prayer, or simply wish to talk about your journey of faith.

You matter to your clergy here at St. Stephen's.

Columbarium
At the request of parishioners, St. Stephen's Church has created a Columbarium on the West side of the Sanctuary.  When the new church is built, the Columbarium will be moved to a specially designed space.  Reservations in the Columbarium may be arranged through our Parish Administrator.  The cost of each niche is $400.  Columbarium burial is increasingly widespread as many Christians wish to have their earthly remains placed with the Church.  A brochure is available in the Tract Rack.

Counseling/Referral
Counseling referral is available through the Rector.  Call the church office to make a confidential appointment to meet with him.

Family Support
Support and referral for our families is available, confidentially, through the Rector.  When a member of our community enters the hospital, please call the church office to inform the clergy so visitation may be arranged.  Call for an appointment to meet with the Rector, Assistant Priest, or Lay Associate Pastor.

All Souls Guild
This is a committee that assists the Rector with funeral or memorial services by ushering, greeting, maintaining hospitality services, and straightening up after.  For funeral planning and support, please make an appointment with the Rector through the church office.

Grief Group
Contact Marionette Bennett (303) 364-3186 or the Church Office for more information.

Nursery Volunteers
If you are bringing your babies (those children under three years old) to the nursery for care on Sundays on a regular basis, perhaps you would be able to volunteer your time during one of the services once every six weeks or so to help our nursery attendants.

Pastoral Care Committee
This committee is made up of lay and clergy members of St. Stephen's with the main objective being the visitation of all shut-in parishioners of the church.  Committee persons are assigned specific members of the congregation to visit.  Once a month the committee meets to bring everyone up to date with what they are doing and to tell what progress is being made.  The work is pleasant and the opportunity to serve is available to all members of St. Stephen's.

Prayer Chain
The prayer chain is a group committed to daily prayers for the parish community and for our clergy and lay leadership.  We also pray for those with special needs or thanksgivings whose names are brought to our attention.  All communication is done by phone using a telephone tree or chain; there are no meetings, officers or dues.  This is a ministry which can (and is) being done by some shut-in members of the parish as well as by those whose schedules don't allow "one more night out."  Men and women, young and old, experienced and inexperienced -- all prayers are welcome.  Contact the church office for more information or to add someone to the prayer chain.
